Yates Lime Sulfur Insect & Disease Control
Yates Lime Sulfur Insect & Disease Control controls a range of fungal diseases and pests on fruit trees, tomatoes, grapes, roses & ornamentals.
Features
- Ideal as a winter clean-up spray – spray fruit trees and roses during winter to control hard-to-kill pests and diseases such as mites and leaf curl.
- Works via contact action, so it is important to achieve good coverage on the insects and diseases, including insects hiding underneath the foliage.

- Easy-to-use measure bottle
- No withholding period. However, please ensure you wash edibles before consumption.
How to Use
Direction for use
Shake well before using. DO NOT spray when temperatures exceed 32°C or when soil is dry and plants are suffering from moisture stress. DO NOT apply when freezing weather is expected. DO NOT apply within 14 days of an oil spray.
Stone Fruit (almonds, apricots, peaches, plums, nectarines)
- Problem: Leaf curl, bryobia mite, freckle, rust, shot hole, brown rot (blossom blight) (not WA or NT), San Jose scale (not Tas), frosted scale (not NSW, ACT or NT)
- Rate: 50ml per litre of water
- How to apply: Apply while trees are dormant prior to bud swell.
Pome Fruit (apples)
- Problem: Black spot (not WA), bryobia mite, pearleaf blister mite, powdery mildew, San Jose scale (not Tas)
- Rate: 50ml per litre of water
- How to apply: Apply during dormancy to late bud swell. Do not use on Delicious or Cox’s Orange Pippin apples. NOTE – Lime Sulfur used after late green tip will restrict growth and depress yield.
Grape Vines
- Problem: Bud mite, erinose mite, rust mite, vine bunch mite
- Rate: 100ml per litre of water
- How to apply: Apply as near as possible to bud burst. In QLD, NSW & ACT only, use 50ml/l.
Citrus
- Problem: White louse scale, rust mite, bud mite, sooty blotch
- Rate: 50ml per litre of water
- How to apply: Apply in winter. In QLD use 30-65mL for white louse and 25ml/l for rust & bud mite.
Citrus
- Problem: Citrus rust mite (Maori mite) (not QLD)
- Rate: 25ml per litre of water
- How to apply: Apply as a summer spray to thoroughly wet leaves.
Roses & Ornamentals
- Problem: Rust, two-spotted mite, powdery mildew
- Rate: 10ml per litre of water
- How to apply: Apply from spring – autumn, wet leaves and repeat as necessary.
Roses & Ornamentals
- Problem: Two-spotted mite, powdery mildew, scale insects
- Rate: 20ml per litre of water
- How to apply: Apply as a winter spray, thoroughly wet all parts of the bush.
Tomatoes & Vegetables
- Problem: Powdery mildew, tomato mites, two spotted mites, rust
- Rate: 10ml per litre of water
- How to apply: Apply from spring – autumn, wet leaves and repeat as necessary.

Precautions
- CAUTION: DO NOT use on Delicious or Cox's Orange Pippin apples. DO NOT apply to apricots, peaches or other sulphur-sensitive plants during the growing season. DO NOT allow chemical containers or spray to get into drains, sewers, streams or ponds. May irritate the eyes and skin. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wash hands after use.
- STORAGE AND DISPOSAL: Store in the closed, original container in a cool, dry place out of reach of children. Do not store in direct sunlight. Dispose of empty containers by wrapping them in paper, placing them in plastic bags and putting them in the garbage.
